I used two dvi drivers on Windows95 -- WinDviPro (Impress, a Japanese
company, sells this) and dviout for Windows (a free software).
Both of them are Japanese software and support pTeX and JTeX, Japanese
extension of TeX which are upper compatible to ordinal TeX.
If fsstnd-1.2.dvi uses some other extension, it is likely that the
extensition and Japanese extension conflicts.

But I will consult with Japanese Debian users to find what is responsible.
