I tend to disagree. Yes, I do use terminals a lot, and having them in
top level section may be more convenient, but it certainly is not more
intuitive. I have seen novice users searching for a terminal emulator in
"Apps" many times, because that is what they are - applications.

Some people depend on a word processor as much as some on terminal
emulator. So should word processors be available in a top level section?

Moreover, many WMs/DEs have their own way of starting a terminal and
Menu system should not [interfere with/replace/work around] this.
