The "Package maintainer scripts and installation procedure" chapter of the Debian policy describes in details the process of packages' scripts, but in a non-formal way, which makes it difficult to understand. I think that adding figures with flowcharts would be great. Reuse of http://women.debian.org/wiki/English/MaintainerScripts should help a great deal, I suppose. Hope this will happen.
