The book/FAQ are right, but you must be careful.

Here is what has happened:

- you have once installed with -t unstable an unstable package
- later, before this package entered testing, another version has appeared
- it has therefore been upgraded (from unstable), even if you have testing as default
- if it depends on packages which were on unstable, their unstable version has been downloaded and (re)installed too


Here is how you find yourself with many unstable packages, even if you started with only unstable package...
