>:
 >: I have recompiled my 2.2.17pre11 kernel with int timeout=5000; nothing
 >: has changed (PB 3400):

I just ran into the described hangup, timeout=2000 :)
the machine was in 'snooze' for about two hours; then I wake it up and tried to
connect to my ISP (isdn modem, ttyS0). The connector was unplugged, in this
case it's impossible to get a working connection due to the orig. pmud-pwctrl
script:
case "$1" in
        minimum)
                ifconfig eth0 down

and following route problems.

# tac /var/log/messages
<snip>
Jul 26 18:21:08 apple syslogd 1.3-3: restart.
Jul 26 18:13:49 apple pmud[2000]: running /etc/power/pwrctl maximum ac
Jul 26 18:13:42 apple chat[2050]: Failed
Jul 26 18:13:42 apple chat[2050]: alarm
Jul 26 18:13:23 apple last message repeated 2 times
Jul 26 18:13:22 apple chat[2050]:
Jul 26 18:13:22 apple chat[2050]: expect (ECT)

while chat failed I plugged in the connector and got this annoying message:
hda: lost interrupt

hard reset with ctrl-command-power started the machine via BootX (there's no
way to use quik-1.3 since 2.2.16), the AC connector stayed in, and booting
failed with another 'hda: lost interrupt' invoked through pmud's orig. pwrctl
script:
Jul 26 18:24:31 apple syslogd 1.3-3: restart.
Jul 26 18:21:11 apple pmud[326]: pmud [treshold = 20, margin = 15] started
Jul 26 18:21:11 apple kernel: MOL module inited
Jul 26 18:21:11 apple kernel: 11 hooks installed starting at c0004138
Jul 26 18:21:11 apple kernel: DMA sound driver installed, using 4 buffers of

Jul 26 18:21:10 apple kernel: Freeing unused kernel memory: 96k init 32k prep

the second try get me running, don't know why.
kernel 2.2.15pre14 didn't do this for sure, pmud is the same plus garcia's pmu
patch (enabling wmapm)
