Nathan Abramson contacted me after my reply to say that xmms can be made to play CDs on cdda machines. I tried it but couldn't get it to work (something wrong with paranoia I think) so I updated the icd script that Andrew Arthur wrote. I won't send it to the list because it's not very relevant but if you send an email direct to me I'll send you a copy. There's a few bugs and rough edges but it does work. Nic Ferrier
