What would be interesting is to check if it's related to this specific change or some others I did. In order to verify that, you can open drivers/video/aty128fb.c, and in this file, you'll find around line 2517, those two lines #define BACKLIGHT_LVDS_OFF #define BACKLIGHT_DAC_OFF If you turn the 2 #define into #undef and recompile, do you see any difference in power consumption ?
