Yes. pbbuttonsd syncs its internal brightness level if some change it 
externally.

It's a compile time decission. You have to compile pbbuttonsd --with-pmud to 
get pmud support. In this case the cover and all sleep requests are handled 
by pmud. There is no automatic mode available.
