Hello!
I have a problem here. I'm running Sarge on two computers
in a small local network. Both computers have a 100Mbit
network card installed but despite this I get very poor
performance using the proftpd daemon. Not even 1Mbit.. 8-(
Proftpd is installed on both computers.
Is there a better ftp daemon available somewhere?
The best I know is vsftpd It does'nt have as many fancy features as
others ftp daemons, but it is very easy to configure, extremely secure and
actually probably the fastest one around.
Even OpenBSD have switched from their bsd-ftpd to vsftpd, and the
config file is quite intuitive (actually, it works even without a config
file!)
That said, maybe your problem is not directly related with proftpd.
But it is probably easier to just install vsftpd and see if it works.
