I think older images also showed "f".
The meaning is as follows:
- F: disk will be formatted, manually selected
- f: disk will be formatted, automatically selected
Automatic formatting can be triggered when you select a different
filesystem or partition layout.

Thank you for this explanation. I choosed Automatic installation - Full
Disk, but perhaps Debian detected that my virtual disk was already
formated and then, used f instead of F, or perhaps I went back during my
installation...
