Package: libsane-hpaio Version: 3.10.6-1 Severity: important
This took me quite some time to figure out: libsane-hpaio only works if a) hp-setup -i is used to set up the CUPS print queue and b) hplip is installed Using "Add Printer" and selecting the auto-discovered Officejet 4500 won't get libsane-hpaio working. As soon as hplip is removed libsane-hpaio will stop finding the scanner. So libsane-hpaio should depend on hplip. Or maybe hplip-data; since hlip-data depends on hplip I can't figure out which one is required. It would also be nice to mention a) in a new file /usr/share/doc/libsane-hpaio/README.Debian. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libsane-hpaio depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-5 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcups2 1.4.4-3 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.24-3 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libhpmud0 3.10.6-1 HP Multi-Point Transport Driver (h ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8o-2 SSL shared libraries Versions of packages libsane-hpaio recommends: ii sane-utils 1.0.21-4 API library for scanners -- utilit libsane-hpaio suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-printing-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
