--- Begin Message ---Package: ghostscript Version: 9.01~dfsg-1 Severity: normal When I print a file with ghostscript 9, I always get a blank page printed first. Then my document prints normally. So if I have a one-page letter, two pieces of paper come out: a blank page and my letter. This does not occur with ghostscript 8, but it did occur with the ghostscript 9 that was in experimental. When I am printing multiple copies of a file with evince, each copy includes its own blank page. The printer I am using is an Officejet 4500. I also see this problem with a Deskjet 5740. Both of these printers use the hplip/hpijs functionality, although one uses the full hplip (with the hp backend) and the other uses just the ppds (with the usb backend); these printers are on two different machines. While this is not terrible, it is inconvenient and quite irksome when I'm printing twenty copies of something. I am of course happy to do some testing if you need me to. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.37-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ghostscript depends on: ii cdebconf [d 0.154 Debian Configuration Management Sy ii debconf [de 1.5.38 Debian configuration management sy ii debianutils 3.4.4 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii gsfonts 1:8.11+urwcyr1.0.7~pre44-4.2 Fonts for the Ghostscript interpre ii libc6 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgs9 9.01~dfsg-1 interpreter for the PostScript lan ghostscript recommends no packages. I don't see the problem anymore (and haven't for some time), so I'm closing the bug. Thanks for looking into it, though. -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 832 623 2791 | http://www.crustytoothpaste.net/~bmc | My opinion only OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b: 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187signature.asc
