Package: cups-common Version: 1.7.5-11+deb8u1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I was not able to modify any printers anymore. So somehow my config got broken and I was not able to figure out why. Usual way to fix such a problem is to purge the package and config. apt-get purge --auto-remove cups cups-common (and then manualy removing /etc/cups/ as the post install script could not remove it because not empty) and then: apt-get install cups This results in a broken installation as /etc/cups/cupsd.conf is not created. What could be the cause of the problem? -Benoit- -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_CH.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_CH.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) -- no debconf information
