I think, that the bug is related to the utility gstoraster as described
here (it does not recognise PJL encapsulated, PostScript document text
starting with "\033%-12345X@PJL JOB"):

As a dirty hack I replaced the last line of the gstopdf script (in
/usr/lib/cups/filter) calling gstoraster for
/usr/bin/ps2pdf - -
and it works. (However, some options like jobid, user, copies,
peculiar options etc. are not passed, so some more complex print jobs may
not so be processed as expected.)
And I have not tested the local printings yet (from the linux host)...
