Something I only realized after replying: Claude may have created a catastrophe, but consider the implications if it had created a *good* compiler. Then we'd really be in trouble. Of all developers I've met, I don't think that even 10% could create a compiler, let alone a good one, let alone in the span of days. For another take on Claude's compiler, I can highly recommend this recent analysis [1] by Chris Lattner, one of the original LLVM authors. It's loaded with valuable insights.
