## Issues with dh-python

In other words, we should fix dh-python to stop creating broken
directories in this case, and do so before we start building against
3.15. I've sent two alternative MRs for dealing with this. The first one
[5] merges the files, while the second one [6] leaves the metadata
directories as they are, instead of keeping only the files that differ.

In the end, Stefano adopted a different strategy, which was implemented
in MRs !97 [1], !98 [2] and !99 [3]. These changes cause dh-python to
throw an error when a package would ship a broken metadata directory.
These changes were included in the latest upload of dh-python
(7.20261019) that was uploaded yesterday. And Santiago Vila has already
started filing some FTBFS bugs for affected packages.

The solution for this is to have more strict rules regarding what gets
installed in the packages and avoid installing spurious directories
(like 'debian' or 'build'), which were causing broken top_level.txt
files.

I'll be working on filing more of these bugs and sending patches for
them. This is just a small heads-up that this is coming.

Happy hacking,
Maxy

One thing which would be nice would be a lintian check for tests installed in /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages too.
