After the installation of the ssh1 I started the ssh2 installation, which brought up a message in the end that if i use ssh1 i should not configure the machine to use ssh2. ?!?!??! In the ssh2 source there is a file called: SSH2.QUICKSTART which gives a detailed description, how to use ssh1 AND ssh2 at the same time. Wouldn't it be easer to implement this into a next release of the ssh2 debian package ? The changed to made are really small: [short description] in /etc/ssh2/ssh2_config put in these lines: Ssh1Compatibility yes Sshd1Path /usr/local/sbin/sshd1 and alter the line: #Ssh1AgentCompatibility none to: Ssh1AgentCompatibility ssh2 in /etc/ssh2/sshd2_config put in these lines: Ssh1Compatibility yes Ssh1Path /usr/local/bin/ssh1 and creating a link for starting sshd2 only ! in rc2.d [/end] cheers tim -- Tim Wieneke T Data Services Ericsson GmbH, Fritz-Vomfelde-Str. 26, D-40547 Düsseldorf Tel. +49 211 534 1593, Fax +49 211 534 1077 , http://www.ericsson.de/ --------------------------------------- Received: (at 59978-done) by bugs.debian.org; 29 Dec 2002 10:55:42 +0000 >From Sun Dec 29 04:55:42 2002 Return-path: <> Received: from smtpzilla2.xs4all.nl [194.109.127.138] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 18Sb6b-0002NH-00; Sun, 29 Dec 2002 04:55:41 -0600 Received: from kalypso (ramstraat29.xs4all.nl [80.126.10.231]) by smtpzilla2.xs4all.nl (8.12.0/8.12.0) with ESMTP id gBTAteZR082363 for <>; Sun, 29 Dec 2002 11:55:40 +0100 (CET) Received: from bas by kalypso with local (Exim 3.36 #1 (Debian)) id 18Sb6a-0003mJ-00 for <>; Sun, 29 Dec 2002 11:55:40 +0100 From: Bas Zoetekouw <> To: Subject: Your ssh2 bug Message-Id: <> Sender: Bas Zoetekouw <> Date: Sun, 29 Dec 2002 11:55:40 +0100 Delivered-To: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-0.7 required=5.0 tests=SPAM_PHRASE_02_03 version=2.41 X-Spam-Level: Hi! Ssh2 was removed from the Debian archive this morning. It's replacement, openssh (ssh package), does not seem to be affected by this bug; therefore, I'm closing it. Kind regards, Bas Zoetekouw.
