This may confuse browser and make email messages unreadable at the receiving end. For example, I tried both Japanese settings (btw, I only remember once choice for Japanese during configuration at install time and that one does not work!) and had to tell galeon what encoding to use before it displayed correctly. Subsequent pages are OK. Similarly, when setting the password you get an email message, but the lack of a content type encoding caused those Japanese mails to be displayed as ASCII. This bug is probably best thrown to upstream. I don't know php, so I can't send a patch, sorry. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux frodo 2.4.18-frodo #1 Wed Jul 10 14:35:11 JST 2002 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE= Versions of packages mantis depends on: ii apache 1.3.26-1 Versatile, high-performance HTTP s ii debconf 1.0.32 Debian configuration management sy ii grep 2.4.2-3 GNU grep, egrep and fgrep. ii mysql-client 3.23.49-8 mysql database client binaries ii php4 4:4.1.2-4 A server-side, HTML-embedded scrip ii php4-mysql 4:4.1.2-4 MySQL module for php4 ii wwwconfig-common 0.0.20 Debian web auto configuration. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 160630-close) by bugs.debian.org; 26 Jun 2003 18:32:54 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Jun 26 13:32:45 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from auric.debian.org [206.246.226.45] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 19VbY2-0004Du-00; Thu, 26 Jun 2003 13:32:42 -0500 Received: from katie by auric.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 19VbXV-00056M-00; Thu, 26 Jun 2003 14:32:09 -0400 From: Bruno Rodrigues <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.34 $ Subject: Bug#160630: fixed in mantis 0.17.5-7 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2003 14:32:09 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of mantis, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: mantis_0.17.5-7.diff.gz to pool/main/m/mantis/mantis_0.17.5-7.diff.gz mantis_0.17.5-7.dsc to pool/main/m/mantis/mantis_0.17.5-7.dsc mantis_0.17.5-7_all.deb to pool/main/m/mantis/mantis_0.17.5-7_all.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
