Package: easytag Version: 0.28.1-2 Severity: wishlist I'd like to be able to view the list of sound files in a two-level tree. (the upper level could be artist, album, etc) The sorting options give you something like this now, but it is rather difficult to figure out where each group begins and ends. Of course, it should be possible to apply commands to an entire subtree of songs.
Motivation: I have a number of ogg files which I encoded from CDs without sufficient editing of the CDDB information. As a result, I have muliple variants of some artists' names. For instance, before I manually normalized some of the worst offenders, I had "Bach", "J.S. Bach", and "Johann Sebastian Bach". (not to mention the pieces that were listed by performer where the composer was more appropriate) A program like easytag is the best way for me to deal with this, but it would be even easier if this feature was available :) Daniel -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux torrent.burrows.local 2.4.21 #1 Sun Aug 24 12:44:33 EDT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US) Versions of packages easytag depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libflac4 1.1.0-10 Free Lossless Audio Codec - runtim ii libglib1.2 1.2.10-9 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk1.2 1.2.10-16 The GIMP Toolkit set of widgets fo ii libid3-3.8.3 3.8.3-2 Library for manipulating ID3v1 and ii libogg0 1.0.0-1 Ogg Bitstream Library ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.2-0pre1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libvorbis0a 1.0.0-3 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libvorbisfile3 1.0.0-3 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii xlibs 4.2.1-11 X Window System client libraries ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-14 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- /-------------------- Daniel Burrows <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -------------------\ | "Do you know why the prisoner in the | | tower watches the flight of birds?" | | -- Terry Pratchett, _Reaper_Man_ | \-- Does your computer have Super Cow Powers? ------- http://www.debian.org --/
