When building 'xwave' as root in a clean chroot, I get the following error:
dpkg-deb: control directory has bad permissions 2755 (must be >=0755 and <=0775)
dpkg-deb: building package `xwave' in `../xwave_0.6+2-9_amd64.deb'.
make: *** [binary-arch] Error 2
As root I get
# apt-get source xwave
# ls -l
drwxrwsr-x 12 1000 1000 4096 Aug 7 14:35 xwave-0.6+2
Please fix the permissions in the *orig.tar.gz tarball.
Regards
Andreas Jochens

This package has now been removed from Debian because nobody was
interested in maintaining it; see
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/06/msg00014.html
for more information.
