Therefore, the network will be down at boot. In my second system (Sarge) pppoeconf make that properly. Furthermore, if pppoeconf will be used a second time, a redundant "auto eth0" part will be inserted in /etc/network/interfaces - rendering the file unusable for the startscripts.
