Just marking that I made a commit to enchant collab-maint git repo, taking care of this in one possible way, http://http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/enchant.git;a=commit;h=9776604ebd64c4a4163916e5db7428e6430f3cc5 enchant is currently orphaned.
