I remember being bitten by this bug, too, when I first started using camera over a year ago, so I was just about to create a patch, but now I notice that the current version of kamera says: This is a digital camera io_slave for KDE which uses gphoto2 and libgpio to allow access to your camara's pictures with the URL camera:/ So, it seems that this has been fixed in 4:3.3.1-2, which is what you have installed.
