I'm using maildir folders and I've emptied each folder with no effect. Sometimes KMail stays running long enough to compact the folders and tidy up (the .index files all show timestamps in line with the last run of KMail). All except 3 folders are now completely empty but still KMail crashes when I change folder. Changing from the inbox to the outbox causes KMail to be unresponsive for a couple of seconds before it crashes with no messages or KDE error box so I never get a chance to see the backtrace. Running KMail from a console I get: *** KMail got signal 11 (Crashing) once I've clicked on any folder. It also crashes when I try to view the properties of any folder (e.g. to view the mailing list entry). --------------------------------------- Received: (at 237609-done) by bugs.debian.org; 20 Mar 2004 10:13:08 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 20 02:13:08 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from xdsl-177-5.nblnetworks.fi (watergate.kos.to) [217.30.177.5] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1B4dTX-0004dz-00; Sat, 20 Mar 2004 02:13:08 -0800 Received: from nchip by watergate.kos.to with local (Exim 4.24) id 1B4dTU-00071p-7e for [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Sat, 20 Mar 2004 12:13:04 +0200 Date: Sat, 20 Mar 2004 12:13:04 +0200 From: Riku Voipio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Re: Bug#237609: kmail: KMail crashes on any folder activity] Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline X-message-flag: Warning: message not sent with a DRM-Certified client User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.5.1+cvs20040105i Sender: Riku Voipio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_12 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-5.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_12 X-Spam-Level: ----- Forwarded message from Neil Williams <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ----- From: Neil Williams <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Riku Voipio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Bug#237609: kmail: KMail crashes on any folder activity Date: Sat, 20 Mar 2004 00:21:22 +0000 User-Agent: KMail/1.6.1 =2D----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 On Friday 19 March 2004 2:32, you wrote: > On Fri, Mar 19, 2004 at 08:43:51AM +0000, Neil Williams wrote: > > On Tue, Mar 16, 2004 at 10:18:39PM +0200, Riku Voipio wrote: > > > Is this still a problem with kmail 1.6.1? > > > > I haven't got 1.6.1 to test. > > It is part of debian (the version number of the package is 3.2.1, > since it is part of kdepim), and should be just and apt-get dist-upgrade > or apt-get install kmail away from you. Excellent - thanks for the tip, I am now running 1.6.1 and all the folder=20 settings have been transferred successfully and the bug report can now be=20 closed.
