However, Mozilla allows the user to completely disable (not just collapse) the message pane. In that case, the message won't load when you click on it. You can then double-click on the message to open it in a new window (KMail already supports the latter). Loading the message (in collapsed mode) causes several problems: * Because I double-click on the message anyway, it will load twice. Usually, the 2 loads are at the same time, and the loading interferes, often leaving me without body. * The message loads unnessarily. This is not only unneeded traffic and processing, but also potentially dangerous, if I selected hostile spam that I just wanted to delete. Actual result: There is no way (at least, I found none) to make a message not load in the message pane when you select it. Suggestion: Under the View menu, offer a switch to disable the message pane and message loads there completely. Maybe enter this mode automatically, if the user dragged the pane separator to the bottom. This is how Mozilla currently works. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 130341-done) by bugs.debian.org; 9 Aug 2004 08:56:04 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Aug 09 01:56:04 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from xdsl-177-5.nblnetworks.fi (watergate.kos.to) [217.30.177.5] (Debian-exim) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Bu5wp-0004G3-00; Mon, 09 Aug 2004 01:56:04 -0700 Received: from nchip by watergate.kos.to with local (Exim 4.34) id 1Bu5wg-0004aa-4F; Mon, 09 Aug 2004 11:55:55 +0300 Date: Mon, 9 Aug 2004 11:55:52 +0300 From: Riku Voipio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Fixed in 3.2 series Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline X-message-flag: Warning: message not sent with a DRM-Certified client User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6i Sender: Riku Voipio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-0.2 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_40 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: X-CrossAssassin-Score: 2 These should no longer be issues in kmail > 3.2 -- Riku Voipio | riku.voipio at iki.fi | kirkkonummentie 33 | +358 44 5000343 --+-- 02140 Espoo | | dark> A bad analogy is like leaky screwdriver |
