Package: kdevelop
Version: 4:23.08.1-2+b2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
X-Debbugs-Cc: tommyi...@yahoo.com
Dear Maintainer,
The most recent update to kdevelop (I believe around May 21st) makes this
program fail to start. I get the following error and then it exits:
kdevelop: symbol lookup error: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5:
undefined symbol:
_ZN18QTextureGlyphCache8populateEP11QFontEngineiPKjPK11QFixedPointb, version
Qt_5_PRIVATE_API
I've uninstalled and then reinstalled everything that was related to qt5 and
qt6, but no difference.
Also, when I try running kate, nothing happens. It just doesn't do anything. So
it might be a QT issue.

So I tried installing qt5ct for theming (since I use i3) and got a bunch of
errors about library version differences (5.15.10 vs 5.15.13). I ran ldd on
qt5ct and searched for the qt libraries referenced. Turns out, somehow a
bunch of libQt files were also installed into /usr/local/lib/. After
removing them from that directory, kdevelop and kate both work the way they
should, so I'm closing this bug report.
Thanks,
Tom
It turns out, somehow the QT libraries were also in /usr/local/lib.
