Bug#443688: kcontrol: fail to set left-handed mouse on start

I can confirm this. The KDE mouse configuration is simply ignored. 
To have the mouse working as I need it I momentarily added

        option "ButtonMapping" "3 2 1"

to the InputDevice section of my xorg.conf
