Package: kate Version: 4:3.5.9.dfsg.1-2+b1 Severity: grave Justification: causes non-serious data loss
1) I start kwrite. It shows a new empty document. 2) I type 'abc' (without the quotes). 3) I open a replace dialog and set the following options: the quotes below surround what is typed in fields, the quotes are not part of the field data. Text to find: '[ab]' as a regexp Replace with: '\\0' with backreferences allowed Search is case-sensitive, not from the cursor, prompt before replace 4) After completing the dialog, the first letter 'a' is highlighted and a new dialog appears asking for confirmation for the replacement. I select to replace the item (left most button labelled 'Csere' in Hungarian). 5) The button changes to be clicked and then nothing happens. Kwrite seems to be frozen: when some part of the window is covered by another window, the window is not redrawn. It does not react to keyboard or mouse events. The only way I know to get out of the situation is to kill kwrite. I know no way to recover the text I have typed in, hence this bug is marked to cause data loss. Kate also has this problem.
