Package: konsole Version: 4:4.3.0-2 Severity: normal I believe this problem began after upgrading from 4.2 to 4.3.
When I use the Fixed font in Konsole, which is a bitmapped font, it is now very slow. For instance, if I am using less and press spacebar to see the next page, it takes about a second to respond to my command. Typing text at a shell prompt isn't slow, but again ls -l on a large directory feels very "blocky". Switching to Bitstream Vera Sans Mono makes the problem go away, but I really liked the Fixed font better. It puzzles me because the Fixed font should use far less CPU time to render in any case. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (99, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages konsole depends on: ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.3.0-2+b3 runtime components from the offici ii kdelibs5 4:4.3.0-2 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii libc6 2.9-26 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.5.2-2 Qt 4 D-Bus module ii libqtcore4 4:4.5.2-2 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.5.2-2 Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++6 4.4.1-3 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.2.2-1 X11 client-side library ii libxrender1 1:0.9.4-2 X Rendering Extension client libra konsole recommends no packages. konsole suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-qt-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
