Sorry for wasting your time. I think a simple man page should have been added a long time ago. Then I wouldn't have filed this report and wasted my time. The handbook entry ( http://docs.kde.org/development/en/kdegraphics/ksnapshot/index.html ) pretty much gives the same info about invoking the program and then says to click the buttons.
