I was hit by the same issue and found this discussion in an Ubuntu forum:

Following NicoDietrich's advice in the discussion, I deleted just
one line "Holidays=us" from ~/.kde/share/config/korganizerrc ,
and the problem was gone.

Oh, and I'm using the testing distribution of Debian.  I upgrade
it daily.
