This may be the most interesting of it http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/pubs/pdfs/redbooks/sg244987.pdf It describes installation for the Marist distro, but tape writing should be the same as for Debian with the exception that Debian has a second Ramdisk for the OCO-modules. See for example http://lists.debian.org/debian-s390/2002/debian-s390-200201/msg00017.html . The Debian for S/390 documentation is not yet finished.
