Package: gfsview
Version: 20121130+dfsg-6
Severity: normal
User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: oldlibs pangox
Control: block 947649 by -1

This package has a runtime dependency on libpangox-1.0-0, the Core X
backend for Pango, which has been deprecated since at least 2012, is
unmaintained upstream and is essentially unmaintained in Debian.

Using a general-purpose graphical toolkit such as GTK or Qt, or a
non-deprecated Pango backend with (such as Xft or Cairo), is recommended.

The severity of this bug might be increased in future if there is an
effort to remove libpangox-1.0-0 from Debian, but for the moment it's
normal-severity.

This dependency is likely to be as a result of using libgtkglext1-dev
(see #702010). It might be possible to avoid the direct dependency by
linking with -Wl,--as-needed.

This has now happened in an unrelated upload due to as-needed having
become default.
