The only user of bumps in Debian is sasview and their releases tend to be coordinated. I tend to avoid upgrading them in Debian independently of each other.

However SasView 6 is still some way off and will be even further off in Debian due to its dependency on pyside6 (which is a beast that is half-packaged and ftbfs still)

I'll look at whether old-sasview and new-bumps will be happy with each other. Most of the 0.9.x releases of bumps are compatibility patches for numpy/scipy/matplotlib that we're already carrying as patches in the Debian package anyway.
