xcas won’t run because f a missing library. > xcas xcas: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory According to apt-file, it seems that this library doesn’t exist anymore in Debian.
According to the package versions listed below, libstdc++6 is the most up to date version from GCC, so xcas should instead depend on libstdc++.so.6. A new install of this package (http://deb.debian.org/debian stable/main amd64 xcas amd64 1.9.0.93+dfsg2-3) in Debian stable trixie/sid works as expected for me, so I am not sure what the issue was with your xcas system configuration.
