I agree, although the pkgkde-symbolshelper from pkg-kde-tools does help with handling and updating symbols even with complex C++ libraries, as used in for example the Qt 5 packages. > Given that the library is small, that may be manageable though. It's a downstream policy to ask for symbols files for the officially supported packages, so I forwarded it to Debian. But in case of double-conversion there might be little benefit indeed. Double-conversion now has a new reverse dependency of qtdeclarative-opensource-src (the version in experimental) which prompted this bug. It's ok to close it as "ack, but not needed", or just keep it open as a wishlist item for now. -Timo
