the problem seems to be about compression level. I did a dpkg-buildpackage and it didn't complain about changed bits on the orig tarball, so probably it was a matter of some different compression in the orig tarball. Not a big issue, it happens to me from time to time and some packages. >I didn't realise you thought I was ready; thanks, I may do so. being a DM is the first step, and it means just "I want to maintain packages, and I'm already doing it for some". The next step is to have dm permissions for a particular package, to upload directly the package without needing a sponsor. for this you might need some additional uploads, but you are on the right way with your package. cheers!
