Package: libscotch-dev
Version: 5.1.12b.dfsg-2+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I tried to link to the libraries under
/usr/lib/parmetis-{int64,int32,long}/, but that failed under CMake
with the following errror:

make[1]: *** No rule to make target '/usr/lib/parmetis-int64/liparmetis.so',
needed by 'cmTryCompileExec3172204297'.  Schluss.
Makefile:118: recipe for target 'cmTryCompileExec3172204297/fast' failed

It turns out that all the following links are dangling:
/usr/lib/parmetis-int32:
insgesamt 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Aug 21  2013 libparmetis.a -> libptscotchparmetis.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Aug 21  2013 libparmetis.so -> libptscotchparmetis.so

/usr/lib/parmetis-int64:
insgesamt 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Aug 21  2013 libparmetis.a -> libptscotchparmetis.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Aug 21  2013 libparmetis.so -> libptscotchparmetis.so

/usr/lib/parmetis-long:
insgesamt 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Aug 21  2013 libparmetis.a -> libptscotchparmetis.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Aug 21  2013 libparmetis.so -> libptscotchparmetis.so

The apparent fix is that the links should point to the corresponding
libs in /usr/lib/scotch-{int32,int64,long}
