as a temporary option, is it possible to have two packages, one for sun4u and
one for sun4[cdm] and have the dependencies set so that if you ask apt to get
modutils, it says something along the lines of:
modutils is provided by modutils-sun4u_.x.xxx
or modutils-sun4cdm_x.xxx
and then the user can then install explicitly which one he/she needs.
