I'm very much a Sun newbie... but shouldn't this be "boot cdrom"? The Sun admin I know first told me "boot cd" and I got inexplicable errors, but then he called me and said: "I think it's actually 'boot cdrom'" which worked. > I called the disk zoot-sparc.iso , do I need to use all numbers to > label the disk instead? I think CDROM disc label is irrelevent. I didn't even give my CDROMs labels, just took whatever default Easy CD-Writer for Win2k prompted. > When I used probe-scsi-all it gives the hard drives targets 0 and 3 as > DEC and Seagate and then target 6 being the portable > cd device it recognized as SONY. Apparently if the CDROM 'alias' isn't setup right, then "boot <cdromalias>" won't work, and it's nontrivial to fix that. Is there some Sun prom FAQ we could refer to (this to the list, not you)? -- Tim Ellis Senior Database Architect Gamet, Inc.
