thanks for Andrew answering. i used the console=ttyS1 cause im using serial boot, if i dont put that parameter, it gives me an "inconsistent console output 2 input 0" or something like that, i dont remember exactly.
if i use the monitor for output instead, it hangs just like below. i also have a diskless sun4m terminal, & it's using debian without problem. anyway, if i have to upgrade the OBP, please tell what i should read, im really new on sparc. thanks. --------- um... the 333Mhz UltraSPARC requires at LEAST 3.19v4 OBP...... I don't know how your system is even booting. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andy Pazos" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <debian-sparc@lists.debian.org> Sent: Friday, April 02, 2004 12:38 AM Subject: booting ultra 10 - kernel hangs > i've tried CDROM, netboot (linux-a.out, tftpboot.img), > just the same happens. > > Sun Ultra 5/10 UPA/PCI (UltraSPARC-IIi 333MHz), > Keyboard Present > OpenBoot 3.15, 128 MB memory installed, Serial > #10913651. > Ethernet address 8:0:20:a6:87:73, Host ID: 80a68773. > ok boot cdrom > Boot device: /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/[EMAIL PROTECTED],1/[EMAIL > PROTECTED]/[EMAIL PROTECTED],0:f File > and args: > > > Welcome to Debian GNU/Linux 3.0! > > This is the Debian Install CD.
