What kernel version are you running? If it is 2.6, you should _not_ use the "sun" keyboard rules, but the standard xfree86 (or xorg). See for further information: http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/sparc/release-notes/ch-information.en.html#s-upgrade-to-2.6
