Hi! I have successfully installed Etch's minimal base system on Sunfire V210, from the netinstall cd. I can normally boot the system but I can't get the network interfaces working.
I have searched about this and I found that it might be related to an Broadcom tg3 driver licensing and distribution issue. Most of this discussion is from year 2005 and I'm wondering if exists some kind of workaround that I can use. My kernel is 2.6.18-4-sparc64-smp # dmesg output # dmesg | grep eth0 ide1: BM-DMA at 0x7fe01000928-0x7fe0100092f, BIOS settings: hdc:DMA, hdd:DMA<6>eth0: Tigon3 [partno(none) rev 2003 PHY(5704)] (PCI:66MHz:64-bit) 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet 00:03:ba:8d:7b:c3 eth0: RXcsums[1] LinkChgREG[0] MIirq[0] ASF[0] Split[0] WireSpeed[1] TSOcap[1] eth0: dma_rwctrl[763f0000] dma_mask[32-bit] tg3: eth0: No firmware running.
