I had similar results, with both kernels:
linux-image-6.12.38+1-sparc64-smp_6.12.38-1+sparc64_sparc64.deb and
linux-image-6.12+unreleased-sparc64-smp_6.12.43-1+nothp1_sparc64.deb
Sorry, but this is not a good one. On the Sun Fire T2000 i used the
"smp" kernel and it crashes on boot:
...
[ 11.150320] [<000000001017e034>] MakeIocReady+0x10/0x298 [mptbase]
...
[ 11.773113] ---[ end Kernel panic - not syncing: Non-resumable error.

Keep in mind you may have to keep the machine off for a longer time or reset>
the NV-RAM. We've got multiple reports now of machines that became stable
after that.
I did that, and it helps sometimes. But it's really unpredictable, sometimes
the machine won't boot at all even after leaving the power off for several
minutes.
But even with this workaround, I often got to the point where the system would
crash quickly after starting to do something serious (like apt upgrade).
