Installer shoud choose optimized kernel, said the docs...

I read soemwhere in the sarge installer FAQ, sarge manual or something 
like that available in sarge homepage that the installer NOT choosing 
the optimized kernel for a machine was a bug and that it was already 
fixes since March or something...

Well, I'm installing sarge with the net installer on my i686 laptop - 
(running over vmware, but that does not change the /proc/cpuinfo AFAIK - 
it reports a "Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 - M CPU 1.80Ghz") and I'm 
getting a i386 kernel installed....
I have no ideia how to reopen the bug.. can someone give a hand on how I 
do this or take care of reopening this bug?

Ps: I am using the last available net-installer (pre-rc2?) so it got 
broken again from march till now or never did got straight...
