Given the choice, I would prefer to see 2.7.1 go into any slink update, as that is the version in use by most of the outside world. The symlink issue is fixed, as well as some other, less visible issues (plus the bug fixes for 2.7.1 over 2.5.0).
Unfortunately, it may be a moot point because omniorb will need to be moved to either non-free or a combination of non-free/contrib due to licensing foo with Sun. The IDL compiler includes some Sun sourcecode, that has a relatively free license except for the provision that downstream users are not permitted to *remove* functionality (i.e., not implement the CORBA specification). This violates the DFSG. Thanks, -Brent -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
