I downloaded from ftp://ftp.fsu.hu/pub/CD-ROM-Images/debian-unofficial/sarge-dvd/jigdo/sarge-i386-1.jigdo with a DSL connection it took about 16 hours to download 4,679,139,328 bytes. Burned a dvd and it works fine.
