estou usando: deb http://ftp.br.debian.org/debian/ stable main deb-src http://ftp.br.debian.org/debian/ stable main deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main
Porém já resolvi o problema.. acabei instalando o .deb do cd de instalação. O que acontecia era que o apt-resolvia como dependência o update-inetd, e essa seria uma mudança muito grande no sistema, daí ele abortava. mas instalando via dpkg resolveu pro problema.
