Eu consegui desabilitar secureboot pelo Windows, de um note novo, com Win 8.1 de fábrica. Após entrar na parte de configuração do Win, ele reinicia direto na tela do setup, onde ele aceita essa mudança. Usando grub-efi, sem necessidade de legacy.
