HE RESUELTO YA GRACAIS A VUESTROS CONSEJOS LOS DOS PROBLEMAS QUE TENÍA: 1) Grub estaba mal configurado el MBR tenía la configuración anterior2) En cuanto al problema del kernel panic (Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:42) la solución, como me comentábais, era reinstalar usando ext3, que también es journaling.
